First annual CIBC MINDSTRONGfitness event raises $530,000 net in support of youth mental health at the Jewish General Hospital
Expenses limited to less than 5% thanks to committed corporate and individual citizens
The Jewish General Hospital Foundation, the Jewish General Hospital Auxiliary, and Midtown Le Sporting Club Sanctuaire held their first annual CIBC MINDSTRONG event on
Sunday, June 7, at the Midtown Le Sporting Club Sanctuaire. MC'ed by TSN690 Montreal Sports Radio Host and MINDSTRONG Honorary President Tony Marinaro, this unique fitness and fundraising event had the more than 250 men and women – aged from 18 to well into their sixties – sweating, stretching and lunging through five energizing hours of exercise, including yoga, zumba, tai chi, boot camp, spinning and high intensity interval training, all for a great cause.
CIBC MINDSTRONG raised a fabulous $530,000 net out of gross proceeds of $550,000.
This represents a fundraising cost ratio of less than 5%, which makes for one of the most cost efficient fundraising events to be held in Montreal this year. No other event in Quebec has raised awareness and resources for mental health on this scale. Proceeds from
CIBC MINDSTRONG will benefit the expansion of mental health programs for young people aged between 15 and 25 at the Department of Psychiatry of the JGH, led by Dr. Karl Looper.
These funds are supporting four major projects:
